Live-In Resident Caretaker – Chilliwack, BC A reputable company is looking for a dependable, hands-on live-in resident caretaker for Chilliwack for 103 units.
You'll live on-site, be the main contact for residents and keep both buildings running smoothly day to day.
What you'll do
Respond to building emergencies (floods, lockouts, fire alarms, power or heating outages) and bring in trades when needed
Coordinate move-ins and move-outs, including suite inspections, condition reports, key handovers and getting suites ready for new tenants
Keep track of rent payments, follow up on arrears and help keep payments on time
Apply the BC Residential Tenancy Act and Residential Tenancy Branch (RTB) procedures, including notices, inspections and documentation
Handle minor repairs and upkeep: painting, suite turnovers, basic plumbing (clogs, leaky taps, running toilets) and small fixes
Keep common areas clean and well maintained, including hallways, laundry rooms, garbage areas and grounds
Deal with residents in a friendly, professional way and report building issues to management
What we're looking for
Previous caretaker,
building manager or property maintenance experience (strongly preferred)
Working knowledge of the BC Residential Tenancy Act and RTB processes
Basic handyman skills, including painting, cleaning and basic plumbing
Reliability and calm judgment in emergencies, with availability for after-hours calls
Strong communication, organization and record-keeping skills
Comfort with email and basic property management software (Rent Manager experience is an asset)
A clear criminal record check and references
