Logistics & Customs Intern

Classification: Intern/ Full time/Hybrid

Job Summary The Logistics & Customs Intern will be responsible for the timely & efficient planning of inbound and outbound freight to meet our customer needs. The successful candidate will mitigate risk & maximize value through cost reduction, avoidance evaluations, engagement & coordination with customers and carriers.

Essential Job Responsibilities

1. Send ASN’s to customers for inbound shipments
2. Ensure all shipping documents are received on time from Overseas logistics team & Shipping line.
3. Audit shipping documents to ensure data is correct.
4. Conver shipping documents sent by overseas logistics team for inbound shipments to local template.
5. Share shipping documents on time to carriers & customs broker.
6. Manage multiple reports (open order, aging, etc.)
7. Process carrier invoices
8. Maintain POD filing.
9. Any additional tasks assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

1. Work with carriers & freight forwarders to obtain daily inbound ETA’s
2. Maintain ETA reports of inbound shipments (DI & DM) & disburse to internal & external stakeholders
3. Arrange return of empty containers back to the shipping line.
4.



Close DI orders in system upon delivery.
5. Update DM inventory in system upon delivery.
6. Send weekly open order report to customers
7. Process all CBSA deductions
8. Work with carriers to obtain competitive rates
9. Ensure minimal compliance infractions
10. Audit and/or dispute and compliance charges
11. Continuously review/improve processes & procedures

The expected base salary range for this role is CAD $18-$22/hour Final compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the position. This job posting represents a current opportunity within the company.
