JOB SUMMARY: Lantic is currently recruiting for the position of Logistics Specialist based in Taber. Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for providing technical support for sales, coordinating customer orders and negotiating transportation rates. More specifically, he/she will select delivery providers and ensure that they meet established quality standards, while providing stability and reliability of deliveries to customers.

The Logistics

Specialist will coordinate all transportation activities, support order management and alignment between customers, sales and operations, and provide support in terms of logistics, freight and exports.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Plan and schedule carrier pickups and deliveries.
- Coordinate truck, rail, ocean, and container shipments.
- Manage export and import shipments, documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate transportation bookings across North America.
- Monitor shipment status and ensure on-time delivery.




- Work closely with customers, carriers, operations, warehouses, purchasing, and customs brokers.
- Support customer order fulfillment and provide shipment updates.
- Track and manage brokered loads and freight movements.
- Review and approve freight, transportation, and brokerage invoices.
- Maintain freight systems and transportation records by customer and mode of transport.
- Support export shipments to customers in the USA, Caribbean, Asia, and other international markets.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, FDA requirements, and export documentation standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

- Experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, customer service, or order management;
- Strong customer service (CSR) skills, including order management, customer communication, order follow-up, and cross-functional coordination;
- Agricultural industry knowledge, including feed products, crop farming, livestock operations, and agricultural supply chains;
- Experience working with inventory management, operations teams, and freight coordination;
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills;
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;
- Positive attitude, adaptability, and willingness to learn;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation/logistics systems;
- Experience with international import/export operations and documentation (an asset);
- Knowledge of customs clearance processes and export compliance (an asset);
- Knowledge of FDA requirements and food industry regulations (an asset);
- Warehouse or distribution experience (an asset);
- Experience coordinating rail, truck, and ocean transportation (an asset).
