AEGIS Homecare Inc. is currently seeking a reliable, compassionate, and experienced male Health Care Aide (HCA) to provide in-home support to a couple residing in Northwest Calgary.

This position is ideal for an HCA who is dependable, professional, comfortable supporting clients in their home, and interested in a consistent ongoing assignment.

Responsibilities The successful candidate will provide support based on the clients' care needs, including:

- Medication assistance/administration as directed by the care plan and within the HCA's authorized scope
- Assisting and encouraging clients with prescribed exercises and mobility activities
- Accompanying clients to medical appointments and other appointments when required
- Providing mobility and safety assistance as needed
- Supporting activities of daily living as required
- Observing and reporting any changes in the clients' condition or wellbeing
- Providing companionship and general support
- Maintaining accurate documentation and visit notes
- Communicating professionally with the clients, family, and AEGIS Homecare care team

Qualifications

Applicants should have

- Health Care Aide Certificate or equivalent recognized training
- Previous home care, supportive living, or continuing care experience




- Experience with medication assistance/administration
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Current Police Information Check/Vulnerable Sector Check, or willingness to obtain one
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and follow an established care plan
- Reliable transportation and the ability to accompany clients to appointments when required
- Excellent reliability, professionalism, patience, and compassion

Availability We are looking for someone who can provide consistent availability Monday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The scheduled hours may be extended depending on the clients' evolving care needs and appointment schedules.

Preference will be given to candidates who are looking for a consistent, long-term assignment and can reliably commit to the schedule.
