Basic Function and Scope

The Manager of Diagnostic Imaging and Laboratory Services provides operational leadership for the hospital’s Diagnostic Imaging and Laboratory departments. This role encompasses the four domains of hospital management: Clinical Operations, Education, Resource Management, and Leadership.

The Manager assumes responsibility and accountability for the effective delivery of diagnostic imaging and laboratory services. This includes oversight of clinical quality, patient safety, accreditation standards, workflow efficiencies, and staff development. The Manager demonstrates the key management functions of planning, organizing, directing, monitoring, and evaluating.

Reporting to the Vice President, Patient Services & Chief Nursing Officer, the Manager will integrate clinical and technical expertise with administrative leadership to ensure high-quality, timely, and patient-centered services. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Leading program development and designing workflows that align with best practices and regulatory standards
- Supporting and mentoring interdisciplinary teams to consistently meet service excellence and quality goals
- Ensuring compliance with applicable legislative and accreditation requirements (e.g., CAR, IQMH, Accreditation Canada etc.)
- Managing staffing, scheduling,



and professional development to support team performance and engagement
- Addressing quality, safety, and risk issues and implementing improvement plans as required
- Managing complex operating and capital budgets
- Supporting patient flow and resource allocation across diagnostic imaging and laboratory services

Hours of Work: Monday – Friday

Pay Rate

$58.87-$69.20

Qualifications & Requirements

- Education
- Baccalaureate degree or diploma from an accredited University or College in Medical Radiation Technology or Medical Laboratory Sciences;
- Master’s degree in Health Administration, Leadership, or related field preferred

- Registration
- Current registration with a related professional regulatory college (CMRITO or CMLTO).

- Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant clinical experience in diagnostic imaging or laboratory services
- Minimum 2 years of leadership or management experience, demonstrating effective team and operational oversight

- Required Skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives and monitor/report key performance indicators
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead diverse teams and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders




- Strong analytical and organizational skills to effectively manage operations, staffing, budget, and compliance
- Knowledge of hospital information systems (e.g., RIS/PACS, LIS) and related digital health platforms
- Demonstrates commitment to professional development and lifelong learning;
- Must have previous proven good performance and attendance record.
