SAP Fioneer FPSL Manager – Banking & Insurance

Role Overview

As an SAP Fioneer Financial Products Subledger (FPSL) Manager , you will lead the FPSL Accounting Definition workstream for banking and insurance clients. You will be responsible for functional delivery across the project lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design through configuration, testing, deployment, and go-live support.

The workstream focuses on functional FPSL topics and excludes data modeling and technical data integration. Scope includes:

- Legal entities, cost centers, and profit centers
- Subledger posting logic and chart of accounts design
- Multi-GAAP, multi-currency, and regulatory accounting requirements
- Banking and insurance accounting requirements, including IFRS 9, IFRS 17, local GAAP, US GAAP, US STAT, and LDTI
- Functional requirements for the integration of FPSL with SAP S/4HANA Finance

You will translate approved finance and accounting designs into FPSL configuration, ensuring accurate event-based subledger postings and reliable general ledger outputs.

Key Responsibilities

Functional Leadership and Delivery

- Lead onshore and offshore configuration teams and perform hands-on FPSL configuration when needed
- Lead functional FPSL implementations for banking and insurance clients
- Support banking product areas including deposits, savings, lending, loans, and capital markets
- Support insurance product areas including policy administration, reinsurance, local GAAP, and IFRS 17
- Lead requirements gathering and maintain the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)
- Prepare and facilitate design workshops with client stakeholders
- Identify, document, and manage Key Design Decisions (KDDs)
- Develop high-level and detailed functional designs based on business, finance, and accounting requirements




- Define and document subledger posting logic and chart of accounts structures
- Define functional requirements for outbound postings and interfaces from FPSL to the SAP S/4HANA General Ledger

Accounting and Regulatory Requirements

- Configure FPSL accounting logic aligned with IFRS 9, including classification, effective interest rate (EIR), and fair value calculations
- Configure FPSL accounting logic for insurance accounting standards, including IFRS 17, US GAAP, US STAT, and LDTI
- Ensure functional designs support applicable local GAAP, multi-GAAP, and multi-currency requirements

Testing, Deployment, and Go-Live

- Lead and support System Integration Testing, regression testing, User Acceptance Testing, and mock cutover testing
- Support reconciliation activities to validate the completeness and accuracy of subledger postings and general ledger outputs
- Lead deployment of the functional FPSL scope and support cutover and go-live activities

Qualifications and Experience

- At least 8 years of functional SAP Fioneer FPSL experience
- At least three end-to-end FPSL implementations, including design, configuration, testing, deployment, and go-live
- Robust functional knowledge of accounting processes and subledger design in banking and/or insurance
- Experience with IFRS 9 and/or insurance accounting standards, including IFRS 17, US GAAP, US STAT, and LDTI
- Experience with related SAP or SAP Fioneer solutions is preferred, including:
- SAP S/4HANA Finance
- SAP Fioneer Financial Services Data Management (FSDM)
- SAP Fioneer Finance Data Suite

Workplace Type and Work Authorization

- This role is typically remote; however, travel may be required based on client and project requirements
- Valid work authorization in the country of employment is required. Sponsorship for work authorization or visas is not available for this role
