CAD Detailer / Drafter

We are looking for a detail-oriented CAD Detailer / Drafter to support the design and production of high-quality custom millwork, cabinetry, furniture, and store fixture projects. This role is responsible for preparing accurate, production-ready shop drawings from architectural drawings, designer renderings, sketches, measurements, and project specifications.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in AutoCAD, a solid understanding of wood millwork construction, and the ability to translate design intent into clear drawings for production. Experience with materials commonly used in the store fixture and custom millwork industry, including wood, veneers, laminates, metal, acrylic, and glass, is important. SolidWorks experience is considered an asset.

This is a hands-on drafting role suited for someone who is organized, accurate, collaborative, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed CAD drawings, shop drawings, working plans, scale drawings, and production documents for custom millwork, cabinetry, furniture, architectural elements, and store fixture projects
- Create and modify drawings based on sketches, architectural drawings, site measurements, client specifications, design changes, and production requirements
- Develop production-ready drawings that clearly communicate construction details, dimensions, materials, hardware, finishes, and assembly requirements to the shop floor
- Prepare breakout drawings and related documentation to support material ordering, fabrication, and installation
- Work closely with project managers, production managers, designers, and shop floor teams to ensure drawings align with project scope, specifications, budgets, and timelines
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, constructability, and compliance with project requirements before release to production
- Provide drafting support for material selection,



construction methods, and cost-effective production solutions
- Respond to production questions related to drawings, materials, specifications, bills of materials, and manufacturing details
- Maintain organized project records, including drawings, revisions, parts lists, material details, and related documentation
- Update drawings promptly based on client changes, project revisions, site conditions, or production feedback
- Manage multiple drafting assignments at the same time while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Support continuous improvement by identifying potential drawing errors, production issues, or opportunities to improve drafting standards and workflow

Required Qualification

- Minimum 5 years of AutoCAD drafting experience
- Experience in wood millwork, custom cabinetry, furniture, or store fixture drafting is require
- Robust knowledge of millwork construction methods, materials, hardware, joinery, woodworking techniques, and finishing processes
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, including the ability to create, revise, and manage detailed shop drawings and standardized drawing package
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, designer renderings, sketches, specifications, and production requirement
- Sound understanding of materials used in custom millwork and store fixtures, including wood, veneers, laminates, metal, acrylic, glass, stains, varnishes, and finishes
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, high-quality drawings for production
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing project requirement
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage overlapping deadlines and multiple active project
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating effectively with internal team
- Strong verbal and written communication skill
- Professional, mature, and solutions-focused approach when working under pressure
