Canadian Energy Services, the drilling fluids division of CES Energy Solutions, is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and organized individual to fill the position of Ocean Logistics Coordinator. This full-time position is located in Calgary, Alberta and will report to the Sourcing and Logistics Manager. The ideal candidate will have willingness to work in a fast paced oil and gas logistics environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- Coordinate ocean freight shipments from booking through final delivery, including import and export shipments.
- Work with ocean carriers, freight forwarders, suppliers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to ensure shipments move on schedule.
- Support the annual ocean freight RFQ and contract process, including preparing lane and volume requirements, issuing RFQs to carriers and forwarders, analyzing quotations, comparing rates and service levels, and supporting contract negotiations and implementation.
- Request and compare ocean freight rates, surcharges, and related transportation costs for spot and ongoing shipments.
- Coordinate container bookings and confirm vessel schedules, cut-off dates, equipment availability, and port details.




- Prepare and manage shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, and other required documents.
- Monitor shipments and provide updates on vessel departures, arrivals, transshipments, delays, and delivery status.
- Coordinate container drayage from ports and rail terminals to warehouses and customer locations.
- Track container and shipment costs and ensure invoices are accurate and properly matched to shipments.
- Work with Customs Brokers to ensure required documentation is available for timely customs clearance.
- Maintain accurate shipment records, tracking information, freight rates, contracts, and supplier/carrier contacts.
- Identify and communicate potential delays, additional costs, or other issues that may impact delivery schedules.
- Support freight and logistics reporting, including shipment volumes, costs, carrier performance, and other KPIs.
- Maintain robust working relationships with ocean carriers, freight forwarders, suppliers, logistics providers, and internal teams.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce freight costs, improve service levels, and streamline logistics processes.
- Other duties as required.





Education and Experience:

- Post-Secondary degree in Supply Chain Management or related field, or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain operations.
- Understanding of logistics-related laws and regulations.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.

Skills and Competencies:

- Experience with Materials Resource Planning is considered an asset.
- Strong in Excel and Power BI software.
- Strong analytical, planning, and organization skills.
- Experience in continuous improvement initiatives and are highly detail oriented.
- Exhibits strong personal values, integrity, and solid business acumen.
- Ability to speak multiple languages is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams and ERP system experience is preferred.
