About The Opportunity

- An established Vancouver Island construction company is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead field operations across residential, commercial, light industrial, and civic construction projects.

- This leadership role is ideal for someone with extensive site experience who excels at managing multiple projects, mentoring teams, and driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

- Lead and oversee all field operations across multiple construction projects.

- Collaborate with Project Managers and Site Superintendents on project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.

- Promote a strong safety-first culture and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

- Monitor project performance, quality standards, budgets, and timelines.

- Identify risks and implement practical solutions to keep projects on track.

- Mentor and support field staff while fostering accountability and teamwork.

Client & Business Development

- Build and maintain solid relationships with clients, subcontractors, and industry partners.





- Represent the company at industry events and networking opportunities.

People Management

- Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management for field employees.

- Resolve workplace conflicts and provide coaching to strengthen team performance.

- Coordinate labour, equipment, and material resources across projects.

Qualifications

- 8+ years of construction industry experience, including operations or construction management.

- 5+ years as a Site Superintendent or in a senior field leadership role managing complex projects.

- Strong knowledge of contracts, budgeting, scheduling, quality control, and construction documentation.

- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.

- Experience with Procore, Sage, or similar construction software is an asset.

- BCIT Technologist Diploma, bachelor's degree, or relevant trade/construction management education is preferred. PMP or other industry certifications are considered an asset.
