Job Purpose The General Laborer - Packer is responsible for the accurate inspection, packaging, labeling, and preparation of protein products in accordance with company quality, food safety, and customer requirements. Reporting to the Production Manager or designate, this role ensures products are packaged to specification, properly labeled, and maintained to the highest standards of quality and safety while supporting efficient production operations.

Essential Functions

- Inspect protein products to ensure they meet quality standards prior to packaging.
- Vacuum seal products and place them into appropriate customer packaging.
- Verify product weight, description, lot information, and dates are accurately recorded on labels.
- Ensure all packaging is properly sealed and free from tears, damage, leaks, or visual contamination.
- Confirm product quality and date accuracy before processing and packaging.
- Package products according to customer specifications and company standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with food safety and sanitation requirements.
- Follow all company policies, quality assurance procedures, and workplace safety protocols.
- Work efficiently to meet production schedules and operational targets.
- Assist with product handling, movement, and other production-related tasks as required.




- Communicate quality, safety, or equipment concerns to supervisors promptly.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications (Education, Experience)

- High school diploma or equivalent is an asset.
- Previous manufacturing, production, warehouse, food processing, or packaging experience is considered an asset but is not required.
- Willingness to work with raw meat and protein products.
- Ability to work in a refrigerated or cold production setting.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and move products and materials weighing 30 lbs. or more.
- Physical stamina and fitness to perform repetitive tasks and prolonged standing throughout scheduled shifts.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Commitment to workplace health, safety, and food safety standards.
- Training will be provided.
