Job Summary & Key Responsibilities The School of Nursing is now accepting applications for multiple Clinical Instructor positions available in the 2027 winter term (January 11 – April 9, 2027).

Instructors are responsible for teaching and supervising a group of BScN students who provide direct client care in clinical settings, work in a clinical skills and simulation lab or tutorial group setting. Tasks include but are not limited to lab demonstrations, marking and proctoring term tests and final examinations as well as evaluating assignments.

Clinical Instructors will report to the instructor of record for their course and work under the protection of CUPE Collective Agreement 3912 – Dalhousie University. Document can be accessed via https://cupe.ca/local/cupe-3912-dalhousie-university .

Access to a computer (no tablet/iPad/phone) with working internet to run Microsoft Teams for online meetings and instruction is required.

GRADUATE COURSES

The Nurse Practitioner Teacher will, under the guidance of a faculty member, support instruction and student learning in a graduate‑level Nurse Practitioner program.

Key responsibilities include delivering course content through lectures, seminars, and case‑based activities, evaluating student performance, grading assignments and providing timely, constructive feedback and supporting the integration of clinical knowledge through simulation and applied learning. The role also involves mentoring students, participating in curriculum development, collaborating with faculty and clinical partners, and maintaining compliance with academic and accreditation standards. NP Teachers are expected to uphold evidence‑based practice, foster a professional learning environment, and contribute to ongoing program improvement.

This position also may involve in person and/ or virtual delivery of course content and student interaction.

Qualifications/Requirements Of Position

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION in BScN program

- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, an active RN license with the NSNMR (license must be in good standing with no pending investigations),



as well as two years of recent clinical experience are required.
- Instructors working in the lab are required to participate in SIM training sessions or workshops. Preference will be given to applicants that are available to do SIM /labs and Clinical in the same course.
- Access to a computer (no tablet/iPad/phone) with working internet to run Microsoft Teams for online meetings and instruction is required.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION in Graduate Program:

- A graduate degree as Nurse Practitioner, an active RN license with the NSNMR , as well as two years of recent experience are required for this course. PhD candidate preferred.
- Access to a computer (no tablet/iPad/phone) with working internet to run Microsoft Teams for online meetings and instruction is required.

Salary Range/Pay Rate Per CUPE Collective Agreement
