Who Are We

Coffee Villain is a brand new specialty coffee shop in Lower Lonsdale, located at 175 West 3rd Street. Coffee Villain sells small batch roasted specialty coffee roasted offsite by the owners. The coffee is high quality and is sourced ethically from Central and South America.

Who We are Hoping to Add to the Team

We are looking for someone passionate about coffee with a small amount of experience in the coffee industry. As this is a specialty coffee shop, a successful candidate would be able to knowledgeably talk about coffee farming/origins/regions, coffee tasting notes, brewing methods and have a working knowledge of specialty coffee. A successful candidate would also embody a friendly, customer-forward personality with the ability to greet people in a positive and warm fashion plus a sense of urgency needed to work in a quick paced environment.

Baristas responsibilities include:

- making and serving consistent and high quality espresso and other beverages
- working with a large Italian espresso machine including dialing in the espresso each morning and properly steaming milk, latte art is a plus
- serving grab-and-go food items




- explain menu items to customers including describing the coffee and where it is sourced
- clean and restock the work and dining areas, empty garbage and recycling bins, and sanitize equipment and utensils
- other daily cleaning including bathrooms
- process cash register payments by cash, credit card, gift card, and debit
- maintain inventory and replenish items in display cases, coolers, at tables, or behind the counter; participate in store inventory count

Physical Requirements

- Able to lift up to 30 pounds at times
- Must be able to stand during scheduled shift, withstand repetitive walking, reaching, and bending for long periods of time.

Hourly Wage: $18.25 CAD/hour + tips. (avg ~$23 tipped wage) Pay: $18.25 per hour

Expected hours: 12.0 – 16.0 per week
