Position description The Canadian and Indigenous Studies Academic Program at Mount Allison University invites applications from persons interested in teaching INDG 1001 (Introduction to Indigenous Studies) in the Winter 2027 semester. This course is an introduction to Indigenous Studies that prioritizes Indigenous voices and principles with the context of Mi’kma’ki while exploring topics such as Indigenous studies as a discipline, world views, societies, cultures, politics, colonization, and decolonization. Duties include in-class instruction, marking, and course design.
Preference will be given to applicants with a PhD and prior teaching experience. The course involves three hours of class time each week. The expected class size is 50. The successful candidate will receive a stipend of $8,490 for the term of the appointment.
