Our Simmons bakery is a busy, high-volume operation with bread, pastry, culinary and customer service teams working together under one roof. We offer takeaway and dine-in service, as well as a small wholesale program.

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Pastry Cook to join our dynamic bakery team. In this role, you will craft and bake pastries, assist with food preparation, and uphold the highest standards of food safety and quality.

Duties

- Prepare, bake, and assemble a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and standards
- Decorate cakes and pastries with skillful cake decorating techniques to enhance visual appeal
- Ensure all baked goods meet quality, freshness, and presentation standards before serving or packaging
- Assist with food handling, storage,



and packaging to maintain cleanliness and compliance with food safety regulations
- Support the kitchen team with food preparation tasks for daily service and special orders
- Maintain a clean, organized work station adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about baked goods and offering product recommendations

Skills

- Proven experience in baking, pastry arts, or a related food industry role, preferably in a restaurant or bakery setting
- Strong cake decorating skills with attention to detail are an asset
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety regulations
- Ability to prepare ingredients efficiently for baking and cooking processes
- Excellent customer service skills to engage positively with customers
- Experience in food packaging and presentation techniques
- Kitchen experience that demonstrates versatility in food preparation and cooking techniques

Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
