Since 1962, Medical Laboratories of Windsor (MLW) provides diagnostic testing, interpretative, and advisory services, designed to meet the needs of patients and clinical personnel responsible for their care. MLW has a full service laboratory providing testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Histology and Cytology. MLW has 7 Specimen Collection Centers, a Home Lab Service, a Courier System, Billing Department and Client Services Department to assist daily operations.

MLW adheres to IQMH guidelines and is ISO 15189 PLUS Accredited.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Patient Scheduling Coordinator to join our team on a part-time basis, with the potential for full-time employment. The ideal candidate will excel in managing appointment schedules, coordinating patient flow, and supporting administrative functions within a fast-paced office setting. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to efficient patient services while developing valuable experience in healthcare administration.

Department: Billing and Accounting, reporting to the Controller

Location: In office position located in downtown Windsor, Ontario

Hours: Hours of work may vary Monday to Saturday. Must be available to work any time during business hours and may be requested to assist in other departments based on operational needs

Key Responsibilities

- Serve as the primary point of contact for patient calls, emails, and inquiries, following up promptly
- Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel appointments
- Collect and accurately enter patient information, maintaining up-to-date records
- Communicate appointment details and preparation instructions clearly to patients




- Handle all patient information confidentially and in compliance with privacy standards
- Provide friendly, professional customer service throughout every interaction
- Support other administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

- 3 years of experience in an office or administrative setting
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational skills with close attention to detail
- Comfortable managing multiple appointments and requests simultaneously
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Professional, friendly, and dependable work style
- Experience in a medical setting is considered an asset
- Experience with purchasing and inventory systems is highly valuable and considered an asset
- Satisfactory police clearance is required.

Pay: $17.95-$23.00 per hour
