We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide essential support and assistance to an individual who is confined to an electric wheelchair. HCA certificate required with mobility lift transfer experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving/Companion Care.
This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for an individual with Muscular Dystrophy ensuring his safety, comfort, and dignity. This home is non smoking and a SCENT FREE zone, please do not use/wear scented creams, shampoos, laundry,etc. We have a small dog.
I am looking for candidates who live close to Cranston and area.
Duties
- Get him out of bed by using a ceiling lift and sling, daily commode use, bathed, get him dressed, groomed, and personal care
- Assist with meal preparation and help him eat
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor client for any change in health status.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to client, fostering a positive environment.
- Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe living space.
- Assist with mobility and transfers with ceiling lift and sling
- Support client confined to Electric Wheelchair with his daily care needs
- Document daily activities and report any significant changes in client condition to the appropriate personnel.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving is required, HCA certified and Criminal Check also required
- Knowledge of patient care practices and familiarity with working with people with disabilities is essential.
- Robust communication skills with fluent English and the ability to work effectively with client
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others and energetic
- Fit and ability to perform physical tasks related to caregiving,
- Basic First Aid is a plus
- Part time position Sat and Sun 9am to 11am both days, Fri night and Sat night 8 pm to 10 pm
