Job Summary:

The Process Technician’s main purpose is to ensure the injection moulding machines and auxiliary equipment are running to optimal standards To support production goals by providing timely and efficient mould start-ups; changeovers and troubleshooting for sample and production runs. To provide direction to material handlers in order to implement the production schedule. To assist Production Manager in monitoring and streamlining production processes to achieve cycle efficiency at all times and to report deficiencies to Production Manager on a timely basis.

Qualifications:

- Technical trade college diploma or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years in production, injection moulding manufacturing. strong mechanical aptitude.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.




- Knowledge of mould design.
- Keen attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

- Responsible for the start-up, changeover & troubleshooting of injection moulding process for sample and production runs
- Enter run information into machine and verify the computer system has captured the correct information.
- Check for proper material and dryer temperature & times.
- Verify dryer and all loading equipment is contamination free.
- Provide any auxiliary equipment (drill presses, cooling fixtures, milling fixtures, arbor presses, etc.).
- Attach end of arm tooling. Make adjustments to robot to properly remove part from press. Load robot programs and program robots, as assigned.
- Assist the Production Manager in achieving cycle efficiency by streamlining the production process through effective monitoring and deficiency reporting
- Remove tool when job is completed and follow tool removal procedures. Return tool to proper location.
- Perform minor machine maintenance (screw tear-downs and cleaning, cleaning of the barrel, etc.).
- Maintain accurate documentation of process parameters during entire shift.
- Perform preventative maintenance on molds.
- Properly complete tool write-ups for mold repairs.
- Monitor part quality and quantity. Troubleshoot and make necessary adjustments and prepare proper documentation. Investigate cause and effect. Document root cause and develop corrective action.
- Communicate with appropriate staff and incoming/outgoing technicians regarding production information and/or issues.
- Operate all process machinery, equipment and be responsible for troubleshooting process challenges
- Operate and monitor production lines from raw materials to packaging of finished products
- Must ensure target production levels are obtained while ensuring product quality; ensuring production at standard rates, sheet gauge etc
- Communicate and document issues as required
- Comply with health and safety rules as per regulatory and plant requirements
- Maintain housekeeping in work setting
- Will assist with training
