Our client is a manufacturer and solutions provider specializing in retail merchandising, store display systems, and in-store communication products.

Responsibilities

- Own the end-to-end coordination of production scheduling and communication across Sales, Production, Purchasing, and Warehouse teams.
- Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules within the company’s ERP system based on customer demand, production capacity, material availability, and operational priorities.
- Serve as the primary communication link between Sales and Warehouse, ensuring requests are properly assessed, prioritized, and communicated before reaching warehouse staff.
- Filter incoming sales requests to determine what information and action the Warehouse and Production teams actually require, reducing unnecessary interruptions and helping teams stay on schedule.
- Coordinate complex production requirements across multiple manufacturing streams, including standard extrusion and fully customized, made-to-order production.
- Schedule products with numerous variations, including different sizes, colours, shapes, custom dyes, and other customer-specific requirements.
- Coordinate multi-step production jobs involving internal manufacturing processes and external vendors, including outside printing suppliers.
- Incorporate purchasing requirements, raw-material availability, supplier lead times, and incoming-material timing into production schedules.
- Account for products and materials sourced internationally, including finished products from China and raw materials from suppliers worldwide.
- Identify potential scheduling conflicts, material constraints, capacity issues,



and production delays and communicate them proactively to the appropriate teams.
- Balance competing priorities and make practical scheduling decisions without creating unnecessary delays or escalation.
- Maintain clear, timely communication with employees across departments and at all levels of the organization.
- Provide full scheduling coverage and act as backup for the existing Production Scheduler during vacations, absences, and other periods requiring additional support.
- Become productive quickly and take ownership of day-to-day coordination with minimal disruption to existing operations.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in production scheduling, master scheduling, production coordination, or a closely related role within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in a manufacturing organization of comparable operational size and complexity; experience limited to very small or straightforward production environments may not provide sufficient exposure for this role.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex production schedules involving multiple products, processes, dependencies, priorities, and lead times.




- Hands-on experience scheduling production within an ERP system; candidates whose scheduling experience is primarily spreadsheet-based will not meet the requirements of the role.
- Strong understanding of purchasing processes, raw-material planning, supplier lead times, and the impact of material availability on production schedules.
- Experience coordinating manufacturing environments involving multiple production streams, customized products, outside vendors, or globally sourced materials is highly desirable.
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess available information, establish priorities, and move work forward without unnecessary delays.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees from a wide range of qualified, cultural, and educational backgrounds.
- Approachable, collaborative, and team-oriented working style with the ability to build productive relationships with both long-tenured employees and newer team members.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment, manage competing demands, and communicate changes clearly across multiple departments.
- Demonstrated ability to learn an operation quickly and contribute productively from the outset.
- Manufacturing industry experience required; specific industry experience is not required, as relevant production scheduling experience is considered transferable.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a permanent basis.
