About Black Moms Connections

Black Moms Connections (BMC) is a global support community of over 50,000 members and a Canadian non-profit committed to increasing the social, emotional, financial, and well-being of the Black family. Founded in Toronto in 2015 by a small group of mothers and formalized as a non-profit in 2016, BMC has grown into a community spanning North America, Asia, and Africa, guided by the philosophy that it takes a village to raise a child. Through strategically curated programming, BMC provides financial support grants and culturally relevant resources to empower and educate Black mothers, positively impacting the communities and economies they live in.

BMC's programming is holistic and person-centred, pairing dedicated financial supports, such as emergency grant funding and rent assistance, with financial education (FinLit U, BizLit U) and wellness services (You Okay Mama?) that address the physical, emotional, and mental health of Black mothers. This work is complemented by advocacy participating in government roundtables and shaping media representation of Black parenting and by a private online community where members share their experiences of Black motherhood and support one another.

BMC's programming is purposeful in its aim to reduce the barriers Black mothers and families face and to empower members toward greater financial stability, wellness, and generational wealth. BMC is the village for Black mothers: providing transformative support, connection, and possibility for the Black family.

Purpose The Program Lead provides subject-matter leadership over the design, quality, and impact of BMC's program FinLit U 2.0. While the Project Manager is responsible for timelines, budgets, and funder compliance, the Program Lead owns the content, curriculum, facilitation quality, and participant experience of each program, ensuring that every touchpoint reflects BMC's mission of increasing the social, emotional, financial,



and well-being of the Black family. This role ensures programming stays holistic, culturally relevant, and responsive to the real needs of Black mothers and families.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Design & Development

- Design and continuously refine program curricula, workshops, and service models in line with BMC's mission and funder objectives.

- Research and integrate best practices and emerging needs of Black mothers and families into program content.

- Develop facilitation guides, participant materials, and program frameworks.

Program Delivery & Quality Oversight

- Oversee the quality and consistency of program delivery across all BMC initiatives.

- Conduct regular observations and debriefs with facilitators to maintain high delivery standards.

- Troubleshoot program delivery issues and adapt content or format as needed.

Facilitator & Volunteer Leadership

- Recruit, train, and coach facilitators, guest experts, and volunteers delivering programming.

- Set explicit expectations and provide ongoing feedback and professional development to program facilitators.

Participant Experience & Support

- Ensure participants receive a welcoming, culturally affirming, and supportive experience throughout their engagement with BMC programs.

- Identify participants who may need additional support and connect them with appropriate BMC resources.

Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

- Gather and analyze participant feedback and outcome data to assess program effectiveness.

- Recommend and implement program improvements based on data and community input.





Cross-Team Collaboration

- Partner with the Project Manager to align program content with grant deliverables, timelines, and budgets.

- Collaborate with the Marketing & Engagement Lead to promote programs and highlight participant impact.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education, Community Development, Human Services, or a related field, or equivalent combined education and experience.

· 3-5 years of experience designing and delivering community, education, or social service programs.

· Experience serving Black women, mothers, or other equity-deserving communities strongly preferred.

· Experience training, coaching, or supervising facilitators or program staff.

· Experience with curriculum or workshop development.

Position: Full-Time, up to 4-year Contract
