As part of the provincial mental health services continuum, BC Mental Health &

- Substance Use Services (BCMHSUS) provides a diverse range of specialized, "one-of-a-kind" tertiary mental health and substance use services to adults across the province. These include services located at the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital and six regional clinics, the Red Fish Healing Centre for Mental Health &
- Addiction, and Heartwood Centre for Women. In addition to delivering these clinical services, BCMHSUS provides provincial leadership for system-wide improvement through its work in: health promotion and illness prevention; knowledge exchange; and research and academic teaching.

The Red Fish Healing Centre for Mental Health and Addiction is a leading-edge facility that treats people with the most complex mental health and addictions challenges in B.C. Located on the historic Riverview Lands in Coquitlam, the virtually-enabled,105-bed facility will welcome its first patients in the fall of 2021.

The Red Fish Healing

Centre is purpose-built for mental illness and addiction treatment, with therapeutic design elements that go hand-in-hand with a new, evidence-based model of care that represents decades of experience, expertise and research. Red Fish is replacing The Burnaby Centre for Mental Health &

- Addiction. Both are operated by BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services, which is a program of the Provincial Health Services Authority.

This role is to provide Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to clients at Red Fish Healing Centre. The applicant is required to have training and expertise in the delivery of TMS. The psychiatrist would work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to effectively plan and manage care of clients to facilitate their recovery and rehabilitation during their stay in program.

Qualifications

- The successful candidate for this position will have passed or be eligible for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) examinations in psychiatry or comparable qualifications and the College of Physician and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC)
- Completed a recognized training program in Psychiatry
- The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work successfully in a multidisciplinary team environment and will demonstrate a trauma informed approach in their clinical work and professional relationships
