As a Quality Assurance and Testing Specialist, you will play a central role in safeguarding the quality, performance, and accessibility of a complex suite of web-based financial services. Working across both modern and legacy application modernization projects, you will design robust test plans, validate multi-tiered business logic, champion UI/API test automation, and ensure comprehensive data integrity across relational databases.

You will report to the team's Project Manager and collaborate intimately with our Senior Software Developers, Business Analysts, and client stakeholders in an active, supportive, and continuous-learning setting.

Core Responsibilities

- Agile Quality Delivery: Work as an active QA specialist within an Agile team utilizing a modern Digital Delivery Methodology, participating in refinement, sprint planning, and acceptance criteria definition.
- Full-Stack Web Testing: Plan, author, and execute detailed manual and automated test suites for enterprise applications
- API & Backend Verification: Conduct rigorous API testing (Postman, Swagger), validating request/response schemas, status codes, payload mutations, and authentication headers.
- Database Integrity: Author and execute SQL queries against Microsoft SQL Server databases to verify transactional consistency, back-end calculations, audit trails, and data migrations.
- Test Automation & Regression: Build and maintain automated end-to-end and regression test scripts (using frameworks like Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium), helping reduce manual regression cycle times.
- Accessibility Compliance:



Perform accessibility audits to verify conformance with federal standards (WCAG 2.1 / 2.2 AA), utilizing automated accessibility tools (Axe, Lighthouse) and assistive workflows.
- Defect Management & Root Cause: Isolate, document, and track software defects in Azure DevOps/GitHub with crystal-clear reproduction steps, logs, and network payloads, partnering with developers to expedite fixes.
- Modern Tooling & AI-Assisted QA: Champion industry best practices and embraces modern development and QA tools, including AI-assisted test authoring, prompt engineering for edge case generation, and continuous test optimization.

Must-Have Requirements:
- Education: Completion of a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent technical credentials.
- Experience: Minimum 1 years of hands-on software quality assurance and testing experience in web-based application environments.
- Security Clearance: Valid Canadian Government Reliability Status Security Clearance, OR the proven ability to obtain it. (Candidates MUST have resided continuously in Canada for at least the last 5 years to qualify).
- Web UI & SPAs: Proven experience verifying modern web front ends (Angular, TypeScript, reactive web components) across multiple browsers and responsive viewport breakpoints.
- API Testing: Demonstrated hands-on proficiency testing RESTful web services and API endpoints using Postman, Swagger, or command-line HTTP tooling.
- Accessibility Standards: Working knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 / 2.2 AA) and accessibility testing practices.




- Defect Tracking & Agile Tools: Proficiency using Azure DevOps/GitHub, or similar enterprise issue tracking systems.
- Language: Fluent English communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to articulate technical defects precisely.

Nice-To-Haves (Assets):
- Test Automation: Practical experience building or maintaining automated test suites using Robot Framework.
- Cloud & DevOps: Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, CI/CD pipelines, and automated test execution gates.
- Domain Knowledge: Prior experience testing financial systems, loan origination, insurance underwriting, or crown corporation / banking applications.
- AI-Assisted QA: Experience utilizing AI-driven tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to accelerate test scenario generation and script writing.
- SQL Competency: Solid practical knowledge of SQL and relational databases (SQL Server) to author queries, inspect records, and validate complex data transformations.
- User Experience: Practice experience working on the User Experience.
- Bilingualism: Fluency or working proficiency in French is considered a strong asset for federal engagements.
