Job Summary

We are seeking a agile and detail-oriented Quebec Charter Civil Litigation Lawyer to join our dedicated legal team. In this role, you will lead civil litigation cases under the Quebec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms, providing expert legal advice, strategic advocacy, and representation in the courtroom. Your energetic approach will drive successful outcomes for clients while ensuring compliance with provincial laws.

Duties

- Manage a diverse caseload of civil litigation matters involving the Quebec Charter, from initial client consultations through to resolution.
- Courtroom advocacy
- Engage in strategic negotiations with opposing counsel to achieve favorable settlements or resolutions outside of court when appropriate.
- Represent clients confidently in court proceedings, hearings, and mediations, advocating their rights under the Quebec Charter.
- Collaborate with clients to develop case strategies that align with their goals and legal rights.

Qualifications





- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree with admission to the Quebec Bar (Barreau du Québec).
- Proven experience in civil litigation within Quebec’s legal framework, particularly involving the Quebec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms.
- Strong research skills with proficiency in LexisNexis or similar legal research platforms.
- Excellent negotiation abilities combined with persuasive writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex legal issues critically and develop effective advocacy strategies.
- Exceptional communication skills in both French and English are preferred to serve a diverse client base effectively.
