As a Resident Support Worker/Custodian (RSW-C) at KGM, you oversee frontline activities, ensuring a safe environment for individuals experiencing homelessness. From assisting clients with basic needs to supporting their transition, you play a vital role in upholding our core values of respect and dignity. Your contributions have a profound impact on the lives of those we serve, embodying the essence of our organization's mission and values.

Bay Ave operates an Overdose Prevention Site with supervised consumption.

Key Responsibilities

- Facilitate shelter activities that promote well-being and community engagement;




- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the shelter, adhering to health and safety standards;
- De-escalate conflicts and ensure the safety of all residents;
- Provide compassionate support to residents and maintain accurate client records;
- Assist with general housekeeping duties and managing residents’ belongings.

Position Requirements

- Minimum of 3-months experience in social work or related field;
- Completion of High School Diploma as a minimum;
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Teams, and other relevant platforms;
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, encompassing active listening, conflict resolution, and negotiation, to build solid relationships within the team and with external partners;
- This position is dependent on a Criminal Records Check (Vulnerable Sector).

- Salary/Hourly/Contract/Temp $24 ph + $1 ph for overnight
- Work Schedule: What days will they work? Mondays & Tuesdays
- Work Schedule: Start Time and End Time 10 pm to 6:30 am
