Store Manager — The UPS Store
Location: Fonthill, ON
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $21..00 per hour plus bonus/commission
Store hours: Mon -Fri 9am to 6:30pm, Sat 10am to 3pm
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated, customer-focused Store Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our The UPS Store location. This is a hands-on management position overseeing shipping, printing, graphic arts, mailbox services, packaging, and retail operations.
The ideal candidate is an organized and energetic leader who enjoys working directly with customers, managing a team, and delivering high-quality business and print solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesStore Management & Leadership
- Oversee daily store operations and ensure excellent customer service.
- Lead, train, schedule, and motivate store employees.
- Create a positive, professional, and productive team environment.
- Monitor employee performance and provide coaching and feedback.
- Manage opening and closing procedures.
- Handle cash, transactions, reporting, and other administrative responsibilities.
- Monitor inventory, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and professional presentation.
- Help achieve sales and profitability goals.
Shipping & Packaging
- Assist customers with domestic and international shipping services.
- Prepare, package, weigh, measure, and process customer shipments.
- Recommend appropriate packaging and shipping solutions based on customer needs.
- Process incoming and outgoing packages accurately.
- Assist with claims, tracking inquiries, and shipment-related customer concerns.
- Ensure shipping procedures and documentation are completed accurately.
- Maintain knowledge of available shipping services and options.
Printing & Copy Services
- Provide customers with professional printing, copying, scanning, faxing, and document services.
- Operate and maintain digital printers, copiers, scanners, and other production equipment.
- Prepare files for printing and ensure correct paper, finishing, sizing, and output.
- Produce business cards, flyers, brochures, posters, presentations, forms, and other printed materials.
- Perform finishing services such as cutting, folding, binding, laminating, and mounting.
- Review completed work for quality and accuracy before delivery to customers.
Graphic Arts & Design
- Assist customers with basic graphic design and document layout needs.
- Prepare customer files for print production.
- Make adjustments to file size, resolution, color, margins, bleeds, and formatting as required.
- Create or modify marketing materials such as business cards, flyers, signs, posters, menus, and promotional materials.
- Work with customers to understand their design and printing requirements.
- Provide recommendations regarding paper stocks, finishing options, sizes, and production methods.
- Ensure graphic and print projects meet customer specifications and quality standards.
Customer Service & Sales
- Deliver friendly, knowledgeable, and professional customer service.
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate shipping, printing, packaging, mailbox, and business services.
- Build relationships with repeat customers and local businesses.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Support sales initiatives and identify opportunities to increase store revenue.
- Promote additional services when appropriate.
Qualifications
- Previous retail, customer service, printing, shipping, or management experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer-service skills.
- Experience with printing, graphic design, or print production is an asset.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Microsoft Office, or similar software is an asset.
- Comfortable operating printers, copiers, scanners, and finishing equipment.
- Robust computer and technology skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality control.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while effectively leading a team.
- Professional, dependable, and positive attitude.
What We’re Looking For The ideal Store Manager is a hands-on leader who is comfortable managing people while also participating in the daily operations of the store. You should enjoy working with customers and be confident handling a wide variety of requests—from shipping and packaging a customer's important documents, to producing a professional business card order, to helping a local business create and print marketing materials.
Experience in shipping, printing, graphic arts, retail management, or customer service is highly valued.
