Role Description The Senior Aviation Electrical Engineer will lead and deliver electrical engineering design for airport and heliport projects, including airfield lighting, power distribution, and associated infrastructure.

Responsibilities include developing design concepts, preparing detailed drawings and specifications, performing electrical load and power system analyses, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and aviation regulations. The role involves coordinating with multidisciplinary internal teams and external stakeholders, supporting tender documentation, reviewing contractor submissions,



and providing technical guidance during construction phases and site inspections. The engineer will mentor junior team members, contribute to project planning and budgeting, and help drive innovation and best practices in aviation electrical systems.

This is a full-time hybrid role based in Alberta, Canada, with a mix of in-office and work-from-home arrangements and occasional travel to project sites as required.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Electricity and Electrical Engineering, with the ability to apply core principles to complex aviation and airport infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in Electrical Design and Power Distribution for facilities such as airfield lighting systems, terminal buildings, and support infrastructure.
- Experience with Power Systems analysis, including load calculations, short-circuit studies, protection coordination, and reliability assessments.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution; eligibility for or registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Alberta or another Canadian province.
- Demonstrated experience in airport or transportation infrastructure projects and familiarity with aviation-related standards and regulations (e.g., Transport Canada, FAA, ICAO).
- Proficiency with relevant design and modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, electrical analysis tools) and strong technical documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines, with strong organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
