Finance - Revenue is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join the Clinical Services Revenue Optimization team. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys solving complex problems, transforming data into actionable insights, and influencing organizational decision-making. Reporting to the Manager, Revenue, the successful candidate will play a key role in identifying and advancing revenue optimization opportunities that support financial sustainability across Acute Care Alberta. The Senior Financial Analyst will conduct complex financial, statistical, and operational analysis, assess revenue recovery opportunities, review billing methodologies and rates, support the resolution of complex billing issues, and develop recommendations for leadership. Working collaboratively with stakeholders across Finance, operational programs, and government partners, the successful candidate will help drive innovative solutions that improve revenue recovery processes and financial outcomes.

Description:

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will coordinate and/or prepare complex financial and statistical analysis and reports, along with providing interpretation of analyses and reports to support business and external requirements. Your work will be focused on budgets, forecasting, recommendations for program and/or cost efficiencies and development or enhancements to processes and controls. In addition, you will coordinate and monitor progress of financial projects, as well as coach and guide other department staff such as Financial Analysts.

Required Qualifications: Post secondary degree specializing in accounting or related field (e.g. economics, statistics).

Additional Required Qualifications: Minimum five years of progressive financial analysis experience. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex financial information to diverse audiences.

Proven ability to build effective working relationships and collaborate with stakeholders across multiple business areas. Ability to think strategically and systematically while balancing operational requirements. Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.

Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Solid problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset. Ability to adapt to changing priorities, evolving business needs, and ambiguous situations.

High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and professional judgment.

Preferred Qualifications: Professional accounting designation (CPA).

Experience in healthcare finance, cost recovery, billing, and complex financial, operational, statistical, and trend analysis. Skilled in briefing notes, business cases, executive presentations, reports, process documentation, rate reviews, costing, financial modeling, project leadership, and process improvement.

Advanced

Excel, Power BI, Oracle, Hyperion, and Copilot expertise. Knowledge of healthcare funding, legislation, and regulations.
