Who We Are Heritage Park is Canada's largest living history museum and offers visitors a chance to experience life in Western Canada from the 1860s to the early 1950s. The park features historical buildings, costumed interpreters, working antiques, and various exhibits that provide insight into the region's past.
Job Overview
The Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role in strengthening Heritage Park’s financial planning, operational decisionmaking, and longterm sustainability. This role supports budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and management reporting across the organization, working closely with budget holders to provide explicit, practical insights that help shape both daytoday operations and strategic direction.
Responsibilities
Budgeting &
- Forecasting Support
- Assist in coordinating the annual budget process, including templates, assumptions, timelines, consolidation.
- Prepare forward-looking financial projections in collaboration with Finance leadership and departmental budget holders to support quarterly forecast process.
- Support labour budgeting and seasonal workforce cost analysis in partnership with People &
- Culture.
- Maintain financial models that support scenario planning and organizational decision-making.
Financial Analysis &
- Business Support
- Partner with departmental leaders to provide timely financial analysis, variance explanations, and decision support to assigned departments.
- Contribute to business cases and financial models that support new initiatives, operational changes.
- Prepare cost pricing, profitability, and revenue analysis to support operational decisions.
- Support cost modelling, variance analysis, and financial tracking for capital projects in collaboration with Capital Planning team.
- Identify emerging financial trends and bring insights for review.
Management Reporting &
- Performance Analysis
- Prepare monthly financial analysis and variance commentary for management reporting.
- Support KPI development and performance analysis that connects financial results to operational drivers.
- Contribute financial information and analysis for the Executive Leadership Team and committee reporting.
Reporting Tools, Systems &
- Process Improvement
- Help develop dashboards and reporting tools that make financial information more accessible.
- Leverage Business Central, Excel and business intelligence tools, to improve accuracy and accessibility.
- Assist with financial process improvements, documentation and internal control support.
- Contribute to ERP optimization and reporting enhancements in collaboration with Finance and IT.

Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
- CPA designation or active progress toward a CPA designation is preferred.
- We welcome candidates with diverse FP&A; backgrounds who want to contribute to a missiondriven organization. A minimum of five (5) years of progressive FP&A; experience, including supporting budget and forecast cycles, is required.
- Strong financial modelling skills and advanced Excel capability.
- Experience providing variance analysis, management reporting, and financial recommendations.
- Ability to translate financial information into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
- Experience with ERP systems
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Jet Reports.
- All successful candidates (over the age of 18) will be required to complete a Police Information Check as a condition of employment. - Additional Assets
- Experience with Power BI or comparable business intelligence and visualization tools.
- Experience with seasonal, tourism, hospitality, attractions or attendance-driven business models.
- Labour costing or workforce-planning analysis experience.
- Experience improving or automating financial reporting processes.
Hours of Work
- The standard hours for this position are 35 hours per week;
- Occasional holiday, evening, and weekend work may be required
