Revon Pharma Ltd. is a Canadian contract manufacturer specializing in private-label cosmetics and health and food supplement products. We are expanding our solid-dose and powder manufacturing capabilities and are seeking an experienced professional to lead formulation development, scale-up and manufacturing activities for tablets, hard-shell capsules, coated tablets, premixed powders and liquid supplement products.

Position Summary The Senior Formulation and Manufacturing Specialist will provide hands-on technical leadership for the development and manufacture of tablets, capsules, tablet coatings, premixed powders and liquid supplements. The successful candidate must be able to independently develop commercially viable formulas, establish robust manufacturing processes and support products from laboratory trials through full-scale production.

This role requires deep practical knowledge of powder characterization, blending, wet and dry granulation, direct compression, tablet pressing, capsule filling, tablet coating, liquid preparation, scale-up and production troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and optimize formulations for compressed tablets, chewable tablets, hard-shell capsules, coated tablets, premixed powders, powder sachets, stick packs and liquid supplements.

· Develop liquid formulations such as syrups, oral solutions, suspensions and supplement shots, with appropriate flavour, sweetness, pH, viscosity, solubility and preservation systems.

· Select suitable active ingredients and excipients, including binders, fillers, disintegrants, lubricants, glidants, flavours, sweeteners, stabilizers, preservatives and coating materials.

· Evaluate powder properties such as particle size, flowability, bulk density, tapped density, compressibility, segregation risk and moisture sensitivity.

· Develop and optimize wet-granulation, dry-granulation and direct-compression processes.

· Develop and optimize tablet film-coating processes, including coating-suspension preparation, spray rate, atomization, inlet and outlet temperatures, pan speed, drying conditions and target weight gain.

· Operate, set up and troubleshoot tablet presses, capsule-filling machines, tablet coaters, coating pans, powder blenders, granulators, mills, sifters, liquid mixing vessels, homogenizers, transfer pumps and filling equipment.

· Set and optimize tablet-compression parameters, including fill depth, compression force, turret speed and tablet weight.

· Conduct laboratory trials, pilot batches, scale-up batches and process-validation batches.





· Transfer formulas and manufacturing processes from development to commercial production.

· Establish raw-material, in-process and finished-product specifications and acceptance criteria.

· Review manufacturing performance, yields, deviations, rework and production losses and recommend corrective actions.

· Support equipment selection, commissioning, qualification and manufacturing-area setup.

· Work closely with Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Regulatory Affairs, Production and Procurement.

· Train production employees on manufacturing procedures, equipment operation, in-process controls and troubleshooting.

· Ensure work complies with applicable GMP, health-product, food-supplement and workplace-safety requirements.

Manufacturing Troubleshooting The specialist must be able to investigate and resolve common manufacturing problems, including:

· Tablet capping, lamination, sticking, picking and chipping

· Tablet weight variation, poor powder flow and inconsistent die filling

· Low or excessive hardness, high friability and compression defects

· Slow or inconsistent disintegration and dissolution

· Coating defects such as sticking, picking, peeling, twinning, colour variation, roughness and orange peel

· Capsule fill-weight variation, poor locking and powder leakage

· Powder segregation, poor blend uniformity, dusting and moisture-related instability

· Liquid precipitation, separation, excessive foaming, poor solubility, viscosity variation and colour or flavour changes

Technical Documentation

Prepare, review and maintain:

· Master Manufacturing Records and Batch Manufacturing Records

· Formulation and processing instructions

· Raw-material, in-process and finished-product specifications

· Standard Operating Procedures

· Development, investigation and scale-up reports

· Qualification and validation protocols and reports

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree or higher in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science or a related field.

· Minimum five years of direct, hands-on experience in the formulation and commercial manufacture of tablets, capsules, coated products, powder supplements and liquid supplements.

· Demonstrated experience with tablet compression, capsule filling, powder blending, granulation, tablet coating and liquid preparation.

· Strong knowledge of wet granulation, dry granulation and direct compression.

· Proven experience scaling formulations from laboratory development to commercial manufacturing.

· Strong understanding of excipient functionality, active-ingredient compatibility and powder behaviour.





· Experience investigating and resolving tablet, capsule and powder manufacturing problems.

· Ability to work independently, lead technical projects and establish practical manufacturing processes.

· Strong technical documentation, communication, organization and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with natural health products, dietary supplements, vitamins, minerals and herbal formulations.

· Experience with chewable, film-coated or modified-release tablets.

· Knowledge of Canadian Natural Health Product GMP requirements and applicable Health Canada regulations.

· Experience with equipment qualification, process validation, cleaning validation and technology transfer.

· Experience in a contract-manufacturing or private-label setting.

· Experience establishing or expanding a solid-dose manufacturing department.

Essential Hands On Requirement

This is a hands-on technical position. Applicants must have direct experience operating, setting up or troubleshooting tablet, capsule, granulation, coating, powder-processing and liquid-manufacturing equipment. Candidates with only theoretical, academic, regulatory or quality-assurance experience, without practical manufacturing experience, will not be considered.
