About the Role

Our client seeks a highly experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their team, focusing on underground mining operations in the Kimberley region. This critical role involves ensuring the stability and safety of underground excavations through expert analysis and design. You will assess geological conditions, conduct risk assessments, and provide engineering solutions for ground support and mine design. Key Responsibilities

- Conduct detailed geotechnical site investigations and analyze geological and geomechanical data for underground mines.
- Perform stability analyses for mine openings, tunnels, and stopes, recommending appropriate ground support systems .
- Develop and implement geotechnical monitoring programs to assess in-situ conditions.
- Provide technical guidance on mine design parameters, excavation sequencing, and operational procedures.
- Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports,



design documents, and risk assessments.
- Mentor junior geotechnical engineers and collaborate closely with mine planning and operations teams.

Requirements

- Master's or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering , specifically within underground mining environments.
- In-depth knowledge of rock mechanics, numerical modeling , and ground support design principles.
- Proficiency with geotechnical software such as FLAC, Plaxis, or Rocscience suite.
- Experience in seismic monitoring and analysis related to underground mining is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
