Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist with 10+ years of experience supporting enterprise-level applications and large-scale IT systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing comprehensive testing strategies, test plans, test cases, automation scripts, and executing functional and non-functional testing across complex applications.

The role requires strong experience in manual and automated testing, API testing, performance testing, database validation, cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile/Scrum delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain testing strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts, test data, and test reports.
- Perform functional, integration, system, regression, acceptance, performance, load, and stress testing.
- Conduct end-to-end testing of complex enterprise applications.
- Execute both manual and automated testing.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Postman, UFT, TestComplete, or similar tools.
- Perform API and backend testing using tools such as Postman and SQL queries.
- Develop and execute performance test scripts using JMeter, LoadRunner, or equivalent tools.
- Identify, document, track, and manage defects using JIRA, Azure DevOps, ALM, Bugzilla, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar tools.
- Work closely with developers to reproduce, troubleshoot, and resolve defects.
- Validate data integrity, accuracy, consistency, migrations, and transformations across databases and system components.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.




- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Work with databases such as SQL and Oracle for backend validation.
- Support applications hosted within Azure and/or AWS cloud environments.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure applications meet AODA accessibility requirements and standards.
- Maintain detailed documentation of test results, coverage, defects, and quality metrics.
- Follow QA standards, security testing practices, SDLC processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, project managers, technical leads, and other stakeholders.

Must-Have Qualifications
- 10+ years of software testing experience in enterprise-level IT environments and large-scale systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with manual testing and automated testing frameworks/tools.
- Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
- Extensive experience creating and maintaining:
- Test strategies
- Test plans
- Test cases
- Test scripts
- Test data
- Test reports
- Experience with Selenium and/or Postman for automation and API testing.
- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or equivalent.




- Knowledge and hands-on exposure to cloud technologies such as Azure and/or AWS.
- Experience executing functional, integration, system, regression, UAT, load, and performance testing.
- Robust understanding of SDLC and Software Testing Life Cycle.
- Strong defect management experience using JIRA, Azure DevOps, ALM, or similar tools.

- Experience working within highly regulated enterprise environments.
- Previous Ontario Public Service (OPS) or other Canadian public-sector experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of OPS QA standards and practices is preferred.
