The Opportunity

PiiComm is looking for a senior, hands-on Technical Team Lead to manage our R&D; team and deliver on business priorities. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, coach developers and contribute to technical decisions and development when needed. The team supports Asset Intelligence Manager (AiM) while building Keystone, its successor. Our focus is expanding operational capacity through better software, automation and practical AI, with emerging technologies such as robotics also being explored.

Key Accountabilities

- Lead and mentor developers, set clear expectations, provide regular feedback and address performance or skill gaps.
- Turn business needs into clear requirements and realistic delivery plans. Manage sprint commitments, resolve blockers and flag risks early.
- Guide architecture, review code and help with complex development, integrations, troubleshooting and production issues.
- Maintain standards for testing, security, documentation and releases, supported by consistent GitHub workflows and CI/CD.
- Apply AI and automation to improve development and operations, with human review and validation.
- Keep leadership and internal stakeholders informed of progress, risks and decisions that need their input.
- Balance ongoing AiM support with Keystone development, while improving team practices and system reliability.

Required Qualifications

- 5+ years in software development, including 2+ years in technical leadership role with responsibility for delivery.
- Strong hands-on C#/.NET experience, supported by knowledge of up-to-date front-end development, API integrations, SQL and relational databases.
- Experience with GitHub workflows, CI/CD,



automated testing and secure development.
- Sound technical judgment across system design and troubleshooting, with the ability to recognize when specialist expertise is needed.
- Experience leading Agile/Scrum teams, coaching developers and addressing performance issues constructively.
- Ability to translate business needs into clear requirements and communicate progress, risks and technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred / Asset Qualifications

- Microsoft Azure experience is preferred. AWS cloud infrastructure experience is an asset (legacy infrastructure).
- Vue 3 or comparable JavaScript framework experience.
- Practical experience implementing AI/LLMs or workflow automation. Exposure to robotics, computer vision or RPA is also an asset.
- Experience modernizing legacy applications while maintaining reliable production support.
- Experience preparing IRAP or SR&ED; technical documentation.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours of operation: Monday - Friday 8:30AM – 4:30PM

Reporting to: Our office is located east of Ottawa in Plantagenet, ON, successful candidate must be able to be onsite at least 3 days per week.

Compensation:

Salary Range: $90,000 - $125,000 annually pending experience

3 weeks vacation

5 paid personal days
