South West Bulk Express is looking for an experienced dispatcher who wants more responsibility, a voice in how things run, and the opportunity to grow with our company.

We are a family-owned dry-bulk carrier serving Western Canada. With our new Rocky View County headquarters and continued investment in our operations, we’re strengthening our dispatch team and developing our next generation of leaders.

This role is for someone who can confidently plan trucks, build strong relationships with drivers and customers, and keep operations moving when plans change.

A path toward Dispatch Manager

You’ll begin by taking ownership of an assigned group of trucks and customers, working closely with company leadership and helping support our junior dispatchers.

As you demonstrate robust planning, sound judgment, and the ability to lead others, there is an opportunity to progress into a Dispatch Manager position with broader responsibility for team performance, planning standards, customer service, and daily operations. Advancement will depend on performance, leadership readiness, and business needs.

What you’ll take ownership of

- Planning daily and upcoming loads across your assigned trucks and customers.
- Building efficient schedules around driver availability, hours of service, equipment readiness, and delivery requirements.
- Finding opportunities to reduce empty miles, improve truck utilization, and minimize delays.
- Responding decisively to breakdowns, scheduling changes, and urgent customer requests.
- Keeping drivers informed and customers updated.




- Coordinating with our shop and safety teams to keep plans practical and achievable.
- Maintaining accurate dispatch information in Axon and providing clear shift handoffs.
- Supporting junior dispatchers and contributing ideas that improve how the team operates.

Who we’re looking for You’re an experienced trucking dispatcher who takes pride in a well-run day, follows through on commitments, and stays composed when things get busy. You can work independently, but you also understand that strong dispatch depends on teamwork.

Required qualifications

- At least 3 years of hands-on trucking dispatch experience.
- Proven experience independently planning multiple trucks and loads.
- Strong knowledge of Western Canadian routes and trucking operations.
- Practical understanding of driver hours of service and scheduling constraints.
- Clear, skilled communication with drivers, customers, and colleagues.
- Confidence using transportation management software and managing competing priorities.
- Availability to work in person in Rocky View County, with weekend coverage as required.

Dry-bulk, pneumatic tanker, Super B, and Axon experience are robust assets. Experience mentoring dispatchers or leading a team is also valued. Why join South West Bulk?

This is an experienced hire This opening is specifically for a Level 3 dispatcher who can independently plan and manage trucking operations. Entry-level applicants and candidates whose experience is limited to shipment tracking, data entry, or relaying instructions will not meet the requirements for this position.
