Senior Underwriting Assistant, Financial Lines | Montreal, QC & Toronto, ON

One of our exclusive clients, a global leader in commercial insurance, is seeking a Senior Underwriting Assistant to join their Financial Lines team based in Montreal, QC, or Toronto, ON.

This role is designed for a driven professional ready to take on new challenges with a top-tier carrier. You will report to a supportive manager and work within a technical team recognized for its excellence.

This is a unique opportunity to join a premier global carrier that leads the commercial insurance market in Primary Layer and Lead Underwriter placements.

Responsibilities

- Account Management: Handle the operational management and end-to-end processing of complex International Major Accounts (Revenue > $250M CAD) within Financial Lines.
- Collaboration: Work closely with underwriters and Center of Excellence (CoE) partners to develop and deliver tailored solutions for both new business and renewals.
- Client Engagement: Attend broker and client meetings as requested by the underwriting team.
- Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.

Qualifications

- Language Skills: Excellent proficiency in both English and French (oral and written), in compliance with Bill 96 requirements.
- Experience: 1 to 3 years of relevant commercial insurance experience and/or equivalent training.
- Client Servicing: Strong ability to anticipate both internal and external client needs and act proactively.
- Problem Solving: Proven ability to identify issues and align them with the appropriate, tailored solutions.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate and compliant documentation is maintained at all times.

Vos responsabilités

- Assurer la gestion opérationnelle et le traitement des dossiers de Grands Comptes Internationaux complexes (C.A > 250 M$ CAD) en lignes financières
- Travailler en étroite collaboration avec les souscripteurs et les partenaires du Centre d'excellence (CdE)



pour élaborer et fournir des solutions sur mesure en renouvellements et affaires nouvelles
- Assister aux réunions avec les courtiers ou les clients à la demande de l'équipe de souscription.
- Accompagner la montée en compétence des membres plus juniors

Profil recherché

- Maîtrise du français et de l'anglais : Excellente maîtrise du français (oral et écrit) et de l'anglais, conformément aux exigences de la Loi 96.
- Expérience : De 1 à 3 ans d’expérience pertinente en assurance ou formation équivalente.
- Service à la clientèle : Capacité à anticiper les besoins des clients (internes et externes) et à agir de manière proactive.
- Résolution de problèmes : Capacité à cerner les problèmes et à y apporter des solutions parfaitement adaptées.
- Rigueur et souci du détail : Faire preuve d'une grande attention aux détails afin d'assurer la précision et la tenue exacte de la documentation.
