A major federal public sector organization is building a cyber assurance program for the embedded systems of its land vehicle fleets, from acquisition through in-service support. It needs the vetronics expertise the program lacks.

The role

Senior advisor alongside equipment management and project teams in a division that acquires and supports land vehicles. On site in the National Capital Region, occasional travel in Canada, full time, about 11 months from late October 2026.

Scope

- Technical advice on embedded sub-systems: computers, microcontrollers, on-board electronics, CAN bus communications
- Analysis of in-service vetronics from fleet technical documentation
- System security requirements and cyber acquisition artifact templates for contractual deliverables
- Systems security engineering input to acquisition and support process assessments, with industry among the stakeholders




- Maintenance and support recommendations from a cybersecurity standpoint

Required
- 5 years, in the last 10, in a vetronics and military land vehicle architecture advisory role, in defence industry or government, including low-level coding of vetronics systems and qualification of cryptographically secure protocols over legacy CAN buses
- 5 years, in the last 10, in the defence industry, applying a NIST-based cybersecurity risk management model to embedded military land systems
- Dated mandates showing role, period and platforms
- Qualified English, spoken and written
