Description The Department of Computer Science within the Faculty of Science invites applications for a CPSC 449 Sessional Instructor for the Winter 2027 Term.

The successful candidate will have responsibilities for lecture instruction, and any other associated course management duties for this 3-unit course, including the supervision and direction of teaching assistants that will deliver the tutorial sections.

Course Description

Information Security 651 - Topics in Security and Privacy (CISSP Bootcamp)

ISEC 651 explores advanced topics in information security and privacy.

Winter 2027 Term Dates: January 4 - April 30, 2027

Delivery Mode(s): All course components will be delivered in person.

Lecture Schedule: The lectures will run Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from March 30 to April 5, 2027, and again from April 6 to 16, 2027. The position will commence January 4, 2027.

Each section of this course will be offered as a one-week module, with students submitting additional work over the subsequent three weeks, with exact dates to be determined by the instructor in conjunction with Graduate Program Director.

Students will participate in a combination of synchronous and asynchronous instruction for the entire duration of the month.

Qualifications

The candidate should possess a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, with specialized expertise in ISC2 certifications, particularly CISSP. They should have a strong academic or professional background in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field, with a minimum of a master's degree, though a Ph.D. is preferred. The candidate should hold a CISSP certification and have demonstrated proficiency in teaching the material in a compressed timeframe.

Additionally, the candidate should have a proven track record of research, publications, and hands-on experience in the field.
