Brandt Industries Canada Ltd is currently seeking a Shop Manager for our Saskatoon, SK location.

The Shop Manager oversees daily shop operations to ensure efficient production, cost control, and on-time delivery across multiple departments. This role coordinates scheduling manages staffing and budgets and drives continuous improvement through Lean initiatives and process optimization. It also collaborates closely with Engineering, HR, and Supply Chain to support product quality, workflow improvements, and organizational goals.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to maintain a safe, productive, and positive work environment.

What You Will Be Responsible For

- Maintain high standards while being fair and impartial in application or standards and goals.
- To schedule production and coordinate resources in order to meet forecasted deliveries for several departments; fabrication, welding, painting, assembly, and shipping.
- Work with the management team to implement and execute Lean manufacturing initiatives where suitable.
- Review manufacturing methods and implement cost-saving opportunities.
- Recommend capital expenditures based on payback analysis.
- Develop and maintain product quality measures.




- To manage and monitor work orders and production costs reports to accurately determine current manufacturing costs.
- Determine manpower requirements based on budget.
- Work with the management team in reviewing and setting hours of work, schedules, and wages.
- Work with HR and payroll.
- Create a positive environment in the plant where people want to perform.
- Work with Engineering on new product design and plan introductions as well as identify product changes that will result in cost reductions.
- To ensure that all bills of material changes and drawing changes are communicated to the engineering and design department in a timely manner.
- Work with IMM as required on purchasing, inventory control, and supply chain management challenges.
- Contributing to the implementation and maintenance of QA programs and initiatives.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and order in the plant.
- Other duties as assigned.

What We Look For

- 5-10 years working in the Steel manufacturing industry.
- Lean manufacturing training and experience.
- Prior Supervisor experience.
- Understanding of workflow and constraints theories.
- High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.
- Must be highly motivated, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to lead by example.
- Knowledge of industrial equipment.
- Proven organizational ability required, along with the ability to multi-task in a high pressure, fast-paced environment.
