About the Role

Our client, a regional tourism board focused on promoting the unique attractions of the Northern Cape, is seeking an enthusiastic Tourism Development Officer . This role involves identifying opportunities to enhance the region's tourism offerings, working with local businesses, and developing strategies to attract more visitors. You will play a key part in the sustainable growth of the tourism sector, fostering partnerships and contributing to the economic development of the area. This position offers a hybrid work model, combining remote flexibility with on-site engagement in Kimberley and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

- Research and identify potential current tourism products and experiences within the region.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for tourism growth and promotion.
- Collaborate with local tourism stakeholders, including hotels, tour operators, and government agencies.
- Organize and participate in tourism fairs, workshops, and marketing events.




- Gather and analyze tourism data to inform development strategies and report on progress.
- Assist in the development of marketing materials and digital content to promote the region.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Tourism Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in tourism development, marketing, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of the tourism industry and its economic impact.
- Excellent research, analytical, and project management skills.
- Effective communication and presentation abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid setting.
