What You'll Be Doing
WestPoint Helicopter Industry Services is a growing aviation training academy based in Parksville, BC. We are looking for a full-time PowerPoint & Microsoft Office Specialist to join our in-house team and help develop and maintain professional technical training materials.
We are looking for someone who genuinely loves working with computers and technology. If you enjoy learning new software, solving computer-based problems, organizing information, and making documents and presentations better, this could be a excellent fit.
What We're Looking For
You will work with our management team and technical instructors to develop, organize, format, and maintain aviation training courseware.
- Creating, editing, and formatting Microsoft PowerPoint presentations
- Working extensively within Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Applying and maintaining company templates, branding, layouts, and document standards
- Working with large technical manuals, presentations, spreadsheets, and digital files
- Cleaning up and improving diagrams, photographs, illustrations, and technical images
- Transferring technical information into established courseware formats
- Organizing and maintaining digital training materials
- Reviewing completed work for accuracy, consistency, formatting, and overall quality
- Clearly communicating the status of assigned projects and tasks
- Following assignments through to full completion
- Learning and implementing new technology, software, and processes as the company grows
- Assisting with occasional administrative and operational duties as required Ordering supplies and materials and tracking incoming and outgoing shipments
- Preparing, mailing, and shipping documents, course materials, and other items
- Occasionally picking up or dropping off mail, shipments, supplies, or other business-related items
Experience
- Strong proficiency across Microsoft applications, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Excellent general computer and technology skills
- A genuine interest in and enjoyment of working with computers and technology
- Strong PowerPoint presentation and formatting abilities
- Clear and consistent communication
- Strong follow-through and the ability to take a task from assignment through to completion
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organization and file-management skills
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A willingness to learn unfamiliar software and technical subject matter
- Reliability, accountability, and pride in producing high-quality finished work
- Willingness to assist with occasional administrative or operational tasks outside of the primary courseware-development role
- The ability to work full-time and in person at our Parksville facility
- The ability to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for the position
Experience with Adobe products, graphic design, technical writing, document control, aviation, or other technical industries would be considered an asset. The Person We're Looking For

You should be someone who enjoys sitting down at a computer, figuring things out, learning new technology, and continually finding better ways to produce high-quality work.
