Role Description This is a full time, on-site Truck Dispatcher role based in Stoney Creek, ON.

The Truck

Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily truck routes, assigning loads, and communicating with drivers to ensure timely pick-ups and deliveries.

Responsibilities include monitoring driver locations, updating schedules, and resolving issues such as delays, breakdowns, or route changes. The role involves maintaining accurate records in dispatch systems, confirming load details with customers, and providing updates on shipment status.

Dispatcher will also collaborate with operations and logistics teams to optimize routes, manage driver hours, and support compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

- Experience in truck dispatching, transportation, or logistics operations, with the ability to coordinate routes and assign loads effectively.
- Strong communication and customer service skills to interact with drivers, clients, and internal teams in a clear and professional manner.
- Proficiency with dispatch software, GPS tracking tools, and basic computer applications (e.g., spreadsheets, email, data entry).
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and make decisions quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of highway regulations, driver hours-of-service rules, and general transportation safety practices is an asset.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to handle unexpected delays, route changes, and scheduling conflicts.
- Previous experience in trucking or freight brokerage is preferred; formal training or education in logistics or transportation is an advantage.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to support operational demands and ensure coverage for dispatch activities.
