We are seeking a Senior Manager to join our growing Indirect Tax Services practice. As a trusted advisor to clients across a variety of industries, you will work closely with partners, colleagues, and tax authorities on complex indirect tax matters, helping organizations manage risk, maximize opportunities, and navigate an evolving legislative landscape.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced indirect tax professional looking to take on a leadership role within a collaborative and entrepreneurial practice. This is for an existing vacancy where the successful candidate will own the following responsibilities:Advise clients on a broad range of indirect tax matters, including GST/HST, QST, PST, Carbon Taxes, Luxury Tax, and other indirect taxes across Canadian jurisdictionsLead the research, analysis, and development of technical positions and practical solutions for complex indirect tax issuesPrepare and review client correspondence, technical memoranda, presentations, ruling requests, and other tax advisory deliverablesManage indirect tax compliance and recovery engagements while identifying planning opportunities that create value for clientsRepresent clients and lead interactions with tax authorities in connection with audits, examinations, objections, appeals, voluntary disclosures, and interpretive mattersDevelop and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and identifying opportunities to expand service offeringsCollaborate with colleagues across Tax, Advisory, and Assurance practices to deliver integrated client solutionsCoach, mentor, and develop team members while reviewing work for technical accuracy, completeness, and qualitySupport practice growth through business development initiatives, networking activities, proposal development, and thought leadershipMonitor legislative and administrative developments affecting indirect taxes and communicate emerging implications to clients and internal teamsHow do we define success for your role?

CPA designation, JD/LLB, or equivalent professional designation is considered an assetCompletion of the CPA GST/HST In-Depth Tax Course is preferredMinimum of 5 years of progressive experience specializing in indirect taxes within a public accounting firm, law firm, industry, or government environmentStrong technical knowledge of GST/HST, QST, provincial sales taxes, and emerging indirect tax regimesProven ability to manage complex client engagements and provide practical, risk-based adviceDemonstrated experience leading tax authority audits, disputes, objections, appeals, and voluntary disclosure mattersStrong business development and relationship management skillsExceptional analytical, research, written, and verbal communication skillsProven ability to coach and develop high-performing team membersA collaborative leadership style and commitment to delivering an outstanding client experienceEmbraces and actively leverages AI, data analytics, and digital tools to improve productivity, enhance the quality of client deliverables, and contribute to a culture of innovation and continuous improvementThe expected range of compensation for this role is $125,000 - $175,000Why BDO?
