Reporting to the Director, Major Pursuits - Canem, the Electrical Engineer will use their engineering and design experience to support the Major Pursuits Team in various activities including electrical and communications system design and collaboration with external consultants, owners, and trades. The Electrical Engineer will have the ability to manage conflicting priorities and will support other business units within Canem. It is preferred that this position will be based out of Calgary, Alberta, however, other Canem office locations will be considered equally.What You Will Be Working On
Review and understand project technical requirements and applicable regulatory requirementsDevelop detailed design schedules that are coordinated with the overall project scheduleCollaboration with consultant and contractor teamsUse engineering experience to develop BOMs for all electrical, communication, and LV systemsCoordinate with vendors and other parties and provide information in a timely manner to avoid delay with the design processWork with Business Development staff to construct and maintain relationships with clients, design consultants,



and other stakeholders.Provide value engineering reviewsExecutionEnsure that design policies and procedures are followedIdentify project and construction risksProduce schematic level analysis of the electrical and IMIT systemsWork with consultants to develop a lean compliant design for electrical and IMIT systemsWork with suppliers to source cost effective solutionsSupport estimator with material take-offsAttend collaborative design meetings with Project teamsContribute to the continuous improvement of Canem’s pursuit process maps and risk management toolsMonitor the compliance and contractual obligations and identify risksMonitor ongoing design efforts to ensure compliance and cost-effective designContribute to the development of the BIM Execution PlanAudit the design documents against the requirements, ensuring they are compliant and meet industry quality standardsProvide support to the Construction team as requiredWhat We Offer
