The research conducted at the Research Vivarium emphasizes the medical specialties of St. Michael's Hospital, including diseases of the heart and circulatory system, trauma and metabolic diseases and disorders.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Evaluating the health of every animal in the facility, including breeding rooms and CL2 suites, and reporting any unusual behavior or health concerns to the veterinarianPerforming welfare assessments with minimal supervision, and interpreting the data collected to make recommendations for refinementsAdministering various treatments to animals, including post-surgicallyMaintaining animal health records, completing surgical debit reports, and recording narcotic and controlled drug usageCorresponding with researchers are animal issues and/or treatmentsUnpacking new arrivals and performing initial health examsChanging bedding materials according to established schedules, including cages in CL2Assisting in the ORs including making/sterilizing surgical packs, dispensing drugs,
