The Planner timely and efficient movement of trucks and freight within a designated region to maximize efficiencies while minimizing empty miles and wait times.How You'll HelpIdentify and assign loads for greatest efficiency and customer satisfaction.Work with drivers and brokers to ensure on time pick up and deliveryWork with Local P&D and terminal staff to coordinate ontime outbound departuresSetting up PAPS and ACE's for South Bound loadsSetting up Empty ACI's when necessaryMonitor scheduled runs to ensure they are on schedule and advise Customer Service, and/or Planner in next region of any changesPromote driver friendly atmosphere on and off the roadRecord and address late deliveries, load refusals, and non-compliance with SOPsUpdate drivers time off and time ready in the truckmate if they have not done it in their satellite.Notify the safety team on driver safety related concerns as identifiedManage / support compliance with random drug tests monthlyAdd notes to trips notes for any approved non-routine payOther related duties as may be assigned.Your Skills & Experience:Minimum of secondary education, with preference of post-secondary education in logistics or business administrationA suitable combination of education and experience may be consideredMinimum 3 years' experience in a time sensitive, planning and organizing role, preferable in the transportation industryExperience using MS Outlook, Excel & Word; must possess the aptitude for learning new programsGood communication skills including the ability to relay information (verbal and written) between several parties and deliver a positive customer experienceTroubleshooting and problem solving skills, the ability to evaluate current situation, respond quickly to changing requirements,
