Timmins and Area Women in Crisis (TAWC) is a energetic, community‐based feminist organization, which provides services on intimate partner abuse and sexual violence to women and their children in the Timmins area. TAWC works within an integrated feminist, anti‐racist, anti‐oppression framework. The agency administers a sexual assault centre, emergency shelter as well as second stage housing to abused women and their children.We are looking for a dynamic woman to join our team in the capacity of Relief Residential Support Worker at H.E.R. Place Woman's Shelter.The ideal candidates will demonstrate the following:Qualifications:Post‐secondary degree/diploma in a relevant fieldProven dedication to violence against women work/women's issuesSolid understanding of feminist ideology and anti‐racism/anti‐oppression principlesWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPointStrong written and verbal communication skillsUnderstanding of the social service sector and providing non‐profit service to the communityDemonstrated sound judgment, problem solving, conflict resolution, crisis intervention, advocacy, and mediation skillsStrong knowledge of Indigenous culturesAbility to communicate in Cree and/or Ojibway and/or Oji‐Cree dialect is a definite assetMust undergo a vulnerable sector checkMust be able to do lifting/carrying, snow shoveling, light houseworkMust be able to work a variety of shifts including overnightsMain Responsibilities:Work to create and maintain safe, confidential,
