We are currently recruiting Carpenter's Apprentices to assist with the construction of various commercial buildings throughout Edmonton. Carpenters with concrete formwork or GC carpentry experience preferred. Non-ticketed carpenters will also be considered.Manual dexterityDuties:Building forms, pouring concreteOperating hand tools, power actuated tools as required to perform tasks including inspecting and ensuring proper, protected useInstalling heating/hoarding, temporary fencing, guardrails, handrails and barriers as requiredParticipating in daily tool-box talksReviewing and preparing daily Field Level Hazard AssessmentsParticipating in weekly safety meetingsEnsuring proper Personal Protective Equipment is used for all tasksAdvising supervision of unsafe conditions or acts that may be a hazard or danger to self and other workersReading blueprints and/or getting instructions from supervisionPreparing layout including selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of workInstalling shoringRemoving/stripping formsEnsuring work areas are kept clean and free of hazardsEnsuring tools and equipment are returned to job boxes and tool cribsReporting all incidents,



"near miss" incidents including damage/non-damage, injury/non-injury incidentsWorking Conditions:Minimum of 44 hours per week. Start and end times vary from site to site. OT as required. OT paid out at time and a half after 44 hours per week. Weekends as requiredTwo paid 15 minutes breaks and one 1⁄2 hour unpaid lunch break per dayExposure to cold/hot weather.
