This position, Resident Coordinator is responsible for the supervision of staff and coordination of resident care with multidisciplinary team members as well as communications with families.THE ROLEKey AccountabilitiesDemonstrate, promote and advocate the Wing Kei vision, mission and core valuesPerform the functions of a Registered Nurse according to the CARNA StandardsPerforms the role of Charge Nurse of the unit(s) as assignedServes as a unit team leader and provides clinical support and supervision to LPNs and HCAsIs accountable for nursing care provided on specific unit: participate in the assessment and planning of nursing care,



develop care plans and effectively implements the nursing processEnsure adequate nursing supplies and equipment on the unit and places orders as necessary and ensures effective and responsible use of such suppliesCommunicate with pharmacy to meet residents' medication needs. Checks and receives medication from Pharmacy, stores and administers medications properly. Keeps up-to-date record and control of medication.Provide nursing assessments; process physician's order and provide assistance to physiciansProvide cognitive, social and emotional support to clients and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to encourage clients' engagement in programs that improve their quality of lifeParticipate in on-going trainings to ensure high standard of service and best practices in the field is achievedPerform other direct care activities as needed, including daily living and personal hygiene activitiesTHE INDIVIDUAL WHO WILL SUCCEEDIs aligned with Wing Kei's vision and mission to continue to deliver excellence in seniors careRegistered Nurse with current CARNA registrationCurrent CPR (BCLS) CertificateDemonstrated proficiency in clinical assessment skills within Scope of Practice and effective leadership skillsIs diligent with good observation skills, keen attention to detailsIs respectful for clients and their family members, as well their rights and privacy, and propertiesIs committed to perform and promote effective work practices and safety awarenessPossess effective verbal and non-verbal skills to communicate with clients and interdisciplinary teams; ability to communicate in Chinese would be an assetFlexibility to work rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights on weekdays and weekendsEffective leadership skills with experience in supervising nursing staff an assetExperience in working in Long Term Care or Support Living (SL4) setting preferred
