This role involves working in our fabrication shop, supporting the manufacturing of overhead cranes and hoist systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for high-quality welding and fabrication work, and ensuring all work meets applicable standards and safety requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesFabrication & WeldingPerform welding, fitting, cutting, and assembly of overhead crane componentsExecute work in accordance with engineered drawings and fabrication blueprintsMaintain high standards of workmanship and quality control.Interpret welding symbols and engineered drawings accuratelyEnsure all work meets CWB and company quality standardsSupport inspection processes where applicableGeneral DutiesSupport special projects and shop requirements as neededMaintain a clean and safe work environmentWork collaboratively with shop and field teams to meet project timelinesCore CompetenciesCertified Journeyman Welder with strong fabrication experienceProficient in MCAW, FCAW, and SMAW (all positions)Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of fabrication techniquesAbility to read and interpret engineered drawings and welding symbolsExperience with rigging and overhead crane operations considered an assetStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipAbility to plan work, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environmentSafety-focused with sound decision-making skillsEffective communicator with strong teamwork and leadership abilitiesCWB Welding Inspector/Supervisor certification is considered a strong asset.Education & Certification RequirementsCertified Journeyman WelderCWB Certification:FCAW/MCAW - OverheadHigh School Diploma or equivalentExperience & SkillsMinimum 2-3 years' experience as a Journeyman WelderExperience operating forklifts (certification preferred)Experience with overhead cranes considered an assetExperience with handheld plasma cuttingWorking ConditionsPhysical role requiring lifting up to 50 lbsSteel-toed footwear requiredPPE provided as neededWhat We OfferCompetitive wagesHealth and dental benefitsCompany pension planStable, team-oriented work environmentOpportunities for growth and developmentWhy Join Kristian Electric?Join a company with a long-standing reputation where your skills directly contribute to building and installing critical equipment across Western Canada.
