Line Cook (Seasonal, Fixed-Term – 2026 Season)Northridge Inn & Resort 712 South Lake Bernard Road, Sundridge, OntarioPosition OverviewNorthridge Inn & Resort is seeking three (3) skilled and motivated Line Cooks to join our culinary team for the 2026 wedding and summer season. This is a seasonal, fixed-term position supporting banquet, wedding, and resort dining operations. The Line Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality menu items in accordance with established recipes, food safety standards, and service timelines. This role offers the opportunity to work under a Red Seal–endorsed Head Chef registered with Skilled Trades Ontario. Support may be available for individuals pursuing Red Seal certification.Term of EmploymentSeasonal Fixed-Term ContractAnticipated Start Date: May 2026Anticipated End Date: October 2026Seasonal position with variable hours based on wedding bookings, resort occupancy, and operational needs.This position is seasonal in nature. Employment will conclude at the end of the fixed term unless otherwise agreed to in writing. There is no guarantee of renewal or contract extension beyond the stated term.Employment is governed by the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000 (ESA).Compensation$19.00 – $21.00 per hour, based on experience and qualificationsVacation pay in accordance with the ESAOvertime pay in accordance with the ESA (where applicable)Public holiday pay in accordance with the ESA (where eligibility criteria are met)Northridge Inn & Resort does not provide tip or gratuity distribution for this position.Accommodation (If Applicable)Shared accommodation may be available in Sundridge, Ontario, subject to a separate written housing agreement.Are voluntaryWill comply with ESA regulations regarding permissible deductions (if applicable)Will be clearly outlined in a separate agreement prior to occupancyDetails regarding accommodation costs (if any) will be provided during the hiring process.Hours of WorkHours will vary based on wedding bookings, resort occupancy, and business levels.Shifts may include mornings, evenings,
weekends, and public holidays.Overtime is paid in accordance with the ESA for hours worked beyond the applicable weekly threshold.Due to the event-based nature of the business, flexibility in scheduling is required.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and quality standardsEnsure food is prepared, plated, and presented to company standardsMaintain food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with Public Health regulationsAssist with prep work and station organizationCollaborate with culinary team members to ensure efficient service during high-volume eventsAccommodate dietary restrictions and special requests where operationally feasibleMonitor food inventory levels at assigned stationMaintain a clean, organized, and safe workstationFollow all WHMIS and Occupational Health & Safety requirementsPerform additional duties as reasonably assigned to support kitchen and event operationsQualificationsCulinary diploma OR minimum two (2) years’ experience in a comparable hotel, resort, or restaurant environmentValid Food Handler Certificate (required prior to start date)Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen operationsAbility to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbsReliable transportation to and from the workplaceWorking ConditionsCommercial kitchen environment with exposure to heat, humidity, and noiseExtended standing, lifting, repetitive motion, and time‑sensitive productionHigh-volume wedding and event service workplace during peak seasonWorkplace Compliance & CommitmentCompliance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000Maintaining a safe workplace under the Occupational Health & Safety ActProviding a respectful workplace free from discrimination and harassment under the Ontario Human Rights CodeMeeting accessibility standards under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)Accommodation is available upon request throughout the recruitment and employment process.#J-18808-Ljbffr
