The OpportunityPioneer Construction is seeking a Civil Construction Superintendent in the Thunder Bay, Ontario area to lead daily field operations across civil construction projects. This hands-on role focuses on coordinating crews, managing site activities, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications. The Superintendent plays a key role in solving on-site challenges, maintaining productivity, and supporting successful project delivery.Your Day-to-DayOversee every phase of civil construction projects from inception to completion, working closely with all involved in the project to ensure productivity and efficiencyLead, train and manage on site workforce including the recruiting, hiring and supervising of employeesBe the main point of contact between Project Manager, Site Forman and Clients, while attending all relevant meetings to keep everyone informed of project progressResolve day to day issues that arise with the construction projects while also identifying future challenges with regards to schedule, materials, construction methods etc.Keep an accurate daily diary to ensure time sheets, inspections and work orders are accurate and safety standards are being metReport to daily activities, quantities, extras, changes, etc. that relate to project schedule and payments to Project ManagerWork schedule including evenings and weekends when requiredLargely involved with the monthly preparation of progress payments and schedule updatesMaintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipmentWork in various weather conditions including inclement weather conditionsWork evenings, weekends,



and extended hours as required to meet operational and project demandsTravel to job sites across Northern Ontario, including occasional out-of-town assignments with overnight staysWork in accordance with and enforce all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Perform other related duties as assignedYou Are a Good Fit If You HaveRequired:Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Technology, Laboratory Technology, or a related fieldMinimum of three (3) years of experience in the Civil Construction IndustryPrior experience in leadership or managerial rolesPossession of a valid G License is requiredStrong commitment to safety and teamworkConsidered an Asset:Surface Miner Common CoreACI certificationAggregate and Asphalt CCIL certificationSkills & Abilities:In depth understanding of construction methods and practices and a growing knowledge of the safety and quality standards that pertain to the industry.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, as well as proposals/contracts.Strong leadership skills with the ability to identify performance gaps,
