Baycrest Hospital - Part Time Security Guard (Nights)Internal Closing Date:September 30, 2026External Closing Date: October 2, 2026Site Description:Baycrest is an academic health sciences centre providing a continuum of care for older adults, including independent living, assisted living, long-term care and a post-acute hospital specializing in the care of older adults all within one campus.Job Description:You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidentsRespond to coded emergencies in a quick and efficient mannerDisplay excellent customer service skills and be able to work with people who are under stress or in need of medical assistanceThis role requires you to be physically fit and able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time of up to 3-4 hours in between break periods.Monitor for and upscale security concerns within the Emergency DepartmentAssist in developing security plans for high-risk patientsProvide security presence and support throughout the Emergency DepartmentUtilize verbal de-escalation techniques to manage conflictsOversee and support patient watch guards within the Emergency DepartmentWork closely with local Law Enforcement and Emergency ServicesEnsure the safety of staff, patients, and visitors within the Emergency DepartmentAssist hospital staff with patient restraints as required or directed according to standard operating proceduresAdhere to all hospital policy and procedures and maintain compliancePrerequisites:Valid Security License for the province of OntarioValid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step TB skin testEnglish (oral and written) fluency is a mustPrevious experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF)
